Introduction In some postings, I use the name DocHorseTales b/c it capsulizes three overlapping dimensions of my identity.  I wear the title "Doctor" based on my academic work having earned the Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin with an emphasis in English education and rhetorical studies (which in today's language might be called literacy education). The best application of literacy education comes in the work of the National Writing Project.  "Horse" represents my love of riding dressage and for an incomparable means for experiencing embodied power in an arena where subtlety, affection, and strength combine in such revolutionary contrast with our political and educational norms.  "Tales" stands for my engagement with storytelling and narrative. Through teaching Good Stories: Teaching Narrative for Peace & Justice, college students and I co-learned as we worked and played across the spectrum of oral, written, and digital composing.  DocHorseTales wants to imagine our way toward better worlds, inner and outer, personal and social.
