Introduction Haiti Medical Missions of Memphis is a 501c3, non-profit organization that benefits the Holy Spirit medical clinic in Port au Prince, Haiti. This clinic cares for approximately 15,000 patients per year free of charge. The organization holds an annual event, the 24-hour Tour d' Esprit, which is the sole fundraiser for the clinic. The proceeds are used for salaries, supplies, maintenance and growth expenses at the clinic. The recent purchase of solar panels to provide energy-saving power at the clinic is one example of the expenses of this clinic. The 24-hour Tour d' Esprit is a one of a kind footrace in Memphis. The course is a certified one-mile loop. Participants can run or walk and compete as individuals or as a member of a team. There are many ultra-distance indivudual runners and teams that come annually to participate in this event. The 24-hour Tour d' Esprit is also a family event. There is a past supper and live auction on Friday evening; a gourmet breakfast and health fair Saturday morning, a La Petite Tour d' Esprit for youth activites on Saturday and an ongoing silent auction featuring both local and Haitian art and gifts.
