Introduction	I made a decision in 2016, to keep creativity and music in my daily life by enrolling in a study of Music at the Open College of the Arts. I'll try to record what I have learned about music, what I have listened to, what I practice and struggle with. I convinced myself that I am never to old to enjoy listening to and to play music well. This signifies a contract with with myself: I want to grow as a musician. My focus is getting better at music practice, but this must be rooted in a knowledge of theory and history. My main interest is folk and roots music: music that conveys a sense of humanity and realness to me. Its music from and about real people. Someone once said: "Music is love looking for words"
