Introduction	I am a South African living in New York and passionate about my home continent, travel, and anything to do with the great outdoors. I was fortunate to grow up hiking, camping and exploring remote parts of Southern Africa and beyond while my scientist parents did research and paid the bills. I now live in Manhattan and escape on kite surfing, skiing, climbing ...well, any adventures really... as often as possible. The profile picture was taken in Zaire (Congo) in 1992 during a trans-Africa (Cape Town to Cairo) backpacking trip- year one of about four years of travel after finishing my degree in Finance at the University of Cape Town.
