Introduction	"sheepandthreads" pretty much describes what I love being around and working with! My name is Kathie and I love living up here in North Idaho with it's beautiful forests and lakes. Not wild about the icy, snowy winters but that's part of the package! I started raising sheep in 1974 and haven't stopped yet! My Romney sheep flock (plus a couple of Columbia sheep) keeps me supplied with gorgeous natural colored and white fleeces. I learned to spin and weave on the Navajo reservation in Arizona where I lived for a period of time. I could never afford to buy a treasured Navajo rug, so I did the next best thing and learned how to make one. I've now branched out to include spinning on a traditonal wheel, weaving on a floor loom, dyeing with natural plant dyes (love that indigo), and other fiber related activities. I am so blessed to have all of this in my life. It has certainly been a wonderful journey, this fiberarts love of mine! I currently have an etsy store, sheepandthreads, where my handcrafted products are sold. All of the profits from my shop go back into the flock's feed and maintenance costs.
