He holds a doctorate in education from Seton Hall University and has been a teacher, principal, and superintendent in Oregon schools. As a travel writer for the past few years, Dr. Sauer has written features on topics as wide-ranging as touring Tibet to deciding on taking children out of school for a trip to Disney World.
