IntroductionSixty ...yes, the age I will be on the first of December - a number I once thought impossibly old and now realize is an astonishing time of living. A time of living that is a secret in our youth-obsessed culture, for now is the time of life I am free to birth Spirit-babies. The babies birthed from my physical body have grown into three wonderful young men and the wisdom that grew in me during those decades now wants to sprout new life. This blog, Percolating Spirit Life is sprouting from those seeds that now have room and space to root deeply and spread as plants growing in newly cultivated empty space. Like the women of Scripture who were surprised to discover they were bearing life after their years of fertility had passed, I too wake up each day astonished that new life continues to be conceived and birthed.
InterestsWhat it means to be human. How it is that God chose humans to carry on the work of creation. The mystery and wonder of persons. When I finish pondering those, what I love is great coffee & conversation (maybe with gelato or cookies) ... time outside as the sun rises .. my boys in the living room on Sunday (and now with Andrea joining us), good books, my colored pencils, a blank page for writing or drawing, a new idea that wants to be born.
Favorite musicSmoky-room jazz and classical as well as,the wind in trees and the chirping of birds
Favorite booksoh the list is way to long, however if I were told that I could only choose 3 books for a year of reading I would take my Jerusalem Bible (never run out of either stories or poetry with it), my very old 20 pound dictionary (w/a magnifying glass) and an anthology of poetry. With these three my mind, heart and spirit could be fed endlessly.
