Favorite Movies CITIZEN KANE (yes, Martha, it is still the greatest movie ever made), 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY (the quintessential 'story' of humanity), NOW VOYAGER (Bette Davis in a transcendent romance for the ages), MY FAVORITE YEAR (one of Peter O'Toole's finest performances). CASABLANCA (Rick's Cafe is the coolest joint in the solar system and Ingrid Bergman's radiance forces the Sun to take a holiday). HOLIDAY INN (Fred, Bing - and Linda Mason!), TITANIC (two words: Kate Winslet), A CHRISTMAS CAROL (with Alastair Sim - the book is really good too :-), THE WIZARD OF OZ (wherein Judy Garland's 'damsel-in-distress' assumes iconic status no one has yet surpassed) and finally, Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 film of ROMEO AND JULIET starring Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey, both relatively unknown actors who bring a freshness and vitality to the roles that make the film perhaps the finest version of Shakespeare's tragedy ever made.
Favorite Music Bach, Vivaldi (I just love "Le Quattro Formaggi"), Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Ravel and Tchaikovsky (his Violin Concerto in D major will make you weep - but in a totally good way). The Beatles and Led Zeppelin when I'm feeling that certain way. The Rolling Stones and The Who when I'm feeling the other way!
