| Introduction | My name is Colleen Moodie. I am a first-time children’s book author and first time believer that dreams come true. I met Aubrey a few years ago and fell in love with this spirited little girl. She is the niece of one of my best friends, Aly Brooks. Aubrey embodies all the characteristics I love about my friend Aly. She is rambunctious and bold. She is smart and beautiful and funny and has a smile that will melt your heart. But ever since Aubrey was diagnosed with Leukemia last year she has had to face challenges that no child should have to endure. Her strength has been tested. And she is forced to be rational, brave and wise beyond her years. It is a privilege to dream. To be able to THINK BIG and REACH FOR THE STARS. And to share those dreams with others. Aubrey was my inspiration and guiding light for writing Princess Smart-Pants. Princess Smarty-Pants may live in a world far away and meet some strange creatures and characters but her story is simple. Be true to yourself. Dream big. And you can grow up to be anyone you want to be. |
