| Introduction | Frequently I hear the words: "Wow, how on earth did you do that?" My response usually is: "If I can do this YOU can do this". So now I'd like to prove it by attempting to create "recipes" of my creations. Usually, nothing I use is usual, and typically, nothing I use is typical. "Fabric" is a mere adjective, rather than a noun. My sewing machine is helpful but not always necessary. My neighbors' empty rice bags or coffee bean bags, glue gun, nails and staple gun are regularly in use. Today, for example, I got to pull out the electric kitchen knife my parents received as a wedding gift in 1960 to cut through 3" foam for seat cushions. (Sorry Mom! If it makes you feel any better, I also used it to carve our watermelon for lunch today.) If you'd like to see some of my completed creations, check out my website Blythesbags.com and the shop Blythesbags on Etsy. The goal here, my friends, is to reduce cost, create no waste & and use little skill. Recycling, upcycling, unicycling, whatever you want to call it. We are going to be thinking outside the box and frequently coloring outside the lines. |
