| Introduction | I am a part-time artist. My career occupation and calling is a Communication professor. I began teaching courses in Communication part time in 1995. As a “generalist” over the 16 years of my career, I’ve enjoyed teaching over 20 different Communication courses in three universities. I am currently a member of two communication associations: Southern States Communication Association (SSCA), and the online community, American Communication Association (ACA). I like to build just about anything from just about any kind of material: from making things from cardboard with my kids, to home remodeling projects, to woodworking and painting murals. I like movies, playing with my kids, reading books with my wife, grilling burgers with friends, and watching sunsets. I love my family, my God, teaching, serving in our church, mission projects, learning to farm on the old family place, and working alongside the excellent faculty in the Department of Communication at Hardin-Simmons University. |
| Interests | Jesus and His church, family, teaching, art, building things, woodwork and art, Dallas Cowboys, Angus cows (which I know little about but have been on a crash course learning how to take care of them on my wife's old family farm!), movies and books. |
| Favorite movies | Star Wars (all of them), Iron Man I & II, North by Northwest, Indiana Jones I & III, Buckaroo Bonzai, Robin Hood with Costner, Tombstone, any Hitchcock film. |
| Favorite music | Air 1, Christian Rock, Transiberian Orchestra, and classic 70s and 80s rock. |
| Favorite books | Bible, anything by Clive Custler, Marry Higgins Clark mysteries, Dee Henderson novels, Andrew Peterson's "On the Efge of the Dark Sea of Darkness" and the rest of the 'Wingfeather Series'(My daughter and I love reading this series together!). |
