| Introduction | Like many of you, I had an on again/off again relationship with art for years. You know, life got in the way and the art supplies would go into storage. But in 2002, I retrieved my watercolors from a box in the basement, and something magical happened. I loved discovering the medium's infinite possibilities, and if a good painting resulted, that was a bonus. For nearly a decade, my watercolors have been my constant. If I'm not painting, I'm thinking or reading about painting. This 10-year journey has brought me knowledge, friendships and even some recognition. I've had paintings juried into shows by Watercolor Society of Indiana and Kentucky Watercolor Society, a solo show at John Waldron Arts Center and work currently displayed at the KWS Gallery in Louisville, Ky. Along the way, talented painters have shown me the way, and now I guide others through Ivy Tech's Beginning Watercolor classes and private instruction. I no longer view watercolor as something to master; I think of it as a medium to explore. Follow along as the journey unfolds for my art, my students, and fellow watercolor travelers. |
