| Introduction | Ryan was born and raised in Allentown, PA. He graduated from Duke University and UCLA School of Law before moving to NYC to practice law at a large firm. Since then, he has worked as in-house counsel for EMI and the Oxygen Network, and is currently VP of Business & Legal Affairs for MTV Networks/VH1/VH1 Classic. Ryan is also a freelance music journalist, having published work in the Village Voice, Filter, PopMatters, The Deli, Glorious Noise, and other print and online publications. In addition to writing dozens of album and concert reviews, Ryan has published interviews with artists like Manu Chao, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Langhorne Slim, the Hidden Cameras, Animal Collective, Ra Ra Riot, Jaymay, Oakley Hall, and the Cardigans. Ryan resides in Brooklyn with his wife Jennifer. |
