| Introduction | Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Glenn Disney received his Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition and Master of Music in Composition from Sacramento State. He has worked full time for over 24 years at the School of Music as its Events Manager.
Glenn's composition "Duality" for violin and cello was co-winner of the 2008 Festival of New American Music Student Composers Competition at Sacramento State. Prior to that, "Bouncy Ball" for solo clarinet was the winning composition of the same competition in 2007. "Frenetical" for solo flute, was released on CD in 2009, performed by Laurel Zucker on Cantilena Records. Glenn played bass in pit orchestras for dozens of musicals with various community theatre groups, and for the California Musical Theatre production of "Forever Plaid" at the Cosmopolitan Cabaret in downtown Sacramento. He was also a resident conductor for Runaway Stage Productions and most recently conducted the orchestra for Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento's 2023 production. |
