| Introduction | Sometimes I see a photograph, a model in a magazine, or just pass by someone on the street and I get an image in my head, usually a jumble of what I just saw, daydreams, and my own life—my son Judah’s toys, things from my own childhood, animals; I find myself paying particular attention to hair as my husband, Rick, is a hair stylist. I think lately my intense sweet tooth has been contributing to my choice of colors. When I make art, I draw images I want to look at, that I want to hang on my own walls, and feel like somehow they are a piece of me—I get attached; So while painting is a definite love of mine, I find that printmaking is perhaps better suited to my covetous mindset, so even if I keep one of every print I probably won’t starve because of it. |
