| Introduction | Like many things in my life, the name for the this blog happened by accident and in the wrong order. A friend was telling me some of the amusing answers his students gave on their homework. One of the answers included the phrase “Humans, especially snakes”. I told him that Especially Snakes would make a good blog name. I was joking, at the time. But the more I thought about it, the more it fit. I grew up evangelical. They divide the world into “godly” and “secular”. All secular things are of the devil, or the snake in the Garden tempting humans with knowledge. They believe that, in all things, humans are evil, terrible, and can’t be trusted. This blog is about exploring all of the things that I was told not question. I ask questions about the nature of good and evil, I question authority, I trust science over dogma. This blog is for all thinking humans...especially the snakes. |
