| Introduction | I'm not a jaded film critic, but a wide-eyed film buff who loves to talk about movies of the studio era, that time of empire that ran from the late 1920s through about the late 1950s. My goal with In a Movie Place is to talk about unsung films and the artists who made them. (The blog's title is an allusion to the 1950 Hollywood film noir, "In a Lonely Place.")
