Introduction	I've decided that librarians need to blog. They also need to have cats. That's why now I have a blog named after my cat. That's his short name. His long name is Oki Doki Arichokie Hummous-face Snowcat Pajama Pants Crookshanks. If I only have one cat, but he has a really long name, does that make him count as more than one cat? Because I really need a better librarian job, but I'm actually more of a dog person. It should also be noted that I have three awesome kids. Right now they are eight, 13 and 15. The older two are steps and all three love books at least as much as I do. I read for the Eliot Rosewater Indiana High School Book Award committee, so if I mention "Rosie," that's what I mean.
Interests	YA Books, picture books, other media, kids (esp. mine), nature, technology, monkeys
Favorite movies	I really sort of love Barton Fink. I'm also pretty crazy about the Planet of the Apes movies.
Favorite music	I like growly folks like Tom Waits and squeaky ones like Victoria Williams. I also like broody so-and-so's like The Mountain Goats. My lifetime favorite is absolutely They Might Be Giants.
Favorite books	The Book Thief is my favorite overall YA book. Into the Beautiful North is my fave YA book I've read this year. I also heart Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Zora Neale Hurston.
