About me

IntroductionBorn on Long Island and raised on pure pop music, Peter Rodman--like so many other kids--was transformed by the Beatles' arrival on the pop scene. But he had already started writing songs as far back as 1962, and even as a kid, the harmonies of Dion & the Belmonts, the 4 Seasons, and the Beach Boys drove Peter underground--literally--into his father's wood-shop, where he established a (pretend) radio station and commandeered his father's 'Dictaphone' machine, literally 'cutting records' there (45 rpm sized, plastic red discs, intended for dictation) at the ripe old age of 10! From the age of 15, he was taken under the backstage wing of artists like Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Simon & Garfunkel and others, at a large venue his Grandpa was associated with, and Peter found an instant rapport with all kinds of creative artists. Over 2,000 in-depth interviews later, he's now been in radio, television, and writing newspaper columns for a period touching on four decades. Peter is currently writing a memoir, and preparing a CD anthology from 40 years of original songs. But then, who isn't?
