About me

Introduction	I am Jewish, a Levi on my father's side and Cohen on my mother's, and am left-wing Oorthodox. I believe in the authenticity of the Chumash and the rest of the Hebrew Bible. I do not favour mystical interpretations, am a rationalist and, in general, follow Maimonides. Like him, I embrace non-Jewish wisdom and scientific progress, believing that they ultimately are part of the Divine truth. I am also a trained historian and hold that the Bible and its events can only be properly understood within the context of the societies and cultures of the era. I always ask myself: What would an objective observer have seen and understood?
