Introduction	Underdog Rescue was started in 2000 by Shannon McKenzie. Shannon had experience working with other rescues, but realized there was a distinct need to help the many dogs and cats that were being overlooked by other rescue groups. Thus, she founded Underdog Rescue of MN. We work with Minneapolis Animal Control and rescue approximately 1-3 "pit bulls" each week. Over the last seven years, Underdog Rescue has placed over 1850 dogs and cats into loving homes. This is thanks largely in part to our volunteers, supporters, and the amazing work of the officers and staff at Minneapolis Animal Control! We CAN make a difference, one animal at a time!
