| Introduction | I’m originally from Hamilton, New Zealand. I grew up in squash surrounded by extremely talented players. It was an exceptional period for squash in New Zealand, during which the country produced many world-class players such as Susan Devoy, Ross Norman & Stuart Davenport. In 1983 I travelled to Europe with some friends and my squash racket. I played and coached in Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, France and Spain. In September 1987 I started working in Barcelona at Can Melich Club. They had an exceptional team and squash school and during the three years I worked there our players won 36 Catalan and Spanish titles in the different categories. We also won four Spanish national teams titles. I was also the Spanish national coach for two years During my time as a squash tourist I played against many excellent and world-class players. I was also fortunate enough to play against, and/or train with, five world champions |
