Introduction I'm a 46-year old, fairly educated woman, raised in CT and refined in south FL. I’ve lived a full, fun, exciting life, often ‘on the edge’, with the world of entertainment my backdrop. I love my husband, cherish my children, value my friends, learn from my experiences and embody compassion and tenacity, often beyond grasp. I was raised in the shadows of A.A and I live by its creed; and I’ve been self employed since ‘97. I lost my dad at 34, married at 36 and adopted a son at 38. Then… my husband’s sister was passionately murdered by her significant other, in front of their two young daughters. Life for us all changed that day. This blog was created for those parents dealing with, coping with, living ‘day-to-day’ with the impact of trauma-rooted chaos on their lives: The anxiety and anguish, judgment, helplessness and fears. The limitations of insurance coverage, the inconsistency of treatment modalities and the intrusiveness of ignorant, poorly funded agencies. I encourage you to share your trials, tribulations, nightmares and triumphs, not just to vent or cleanse, or ‘to be heard’ without prejudice or suspicion, but to lend voice to change. Please share your stories.
