| Introduction | Good Friends would ask, "We're wondering when you're going to settle down?" The Jude, feeling like he had some sort of illness, would reply with a myraid of mumbo jumbo explanations. Then, as if he had gone through the five stages of a terminal illness (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance), he came to the realization that he settled down when he was born. The planet Earth was where he settled down and now is his time to explore it. That being said, he is all the more appreciative of the Faulknerian sensibility that there's an incredible, immense universe packed into any one place you live. Jude is in Ghana, West Africa for 9 months, from February 19 to November 21. He is an artist-in-residence in Adugyama, Ghana, 45 km northwest of Kumasi on the Sunyani Rd. Besides doing his own art creations and experiencing village life, he is also running an informal drop-in art center for children. Neighborhood children stop in and do drawings on paper with pen and colored pencils, look at books, and also paint with dirt and charcoal. |
