Introduction EVELYN DOMINGO-BARKER Baguio City, the Summer Capital: a Baby Boomer is born, March 1946. Youngest, four older siblings. The Republic of the Philippines, also born in 1946. Schooled in Lucban Community School, Baguio City High School; in Manila, the University of the Philippines, and Washington, DC, the Catholic University of America. Studied for an MBA at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, and ended up working at the World Bank’s World Development Institute and at the International Finance Corporation, as Librarian. Bade Washington, DC goodbye, to launch trade and investment information services as Senior Adviser with the International Trade Centre-UNCTAD/WTO Geneva, in 42 countries and states. Retired as Chief Librarian, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific UNESCAP in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2008. Followed through a keen interest in ethnic textiles and crafts, and a post-retirement occupation: teaching quilting with social enterprises and NGOs in Cambodia, India, Nepal, the Philippines, and Viet Nam.
Interests Wife, mother, sister, and daughter I am living in the seventh decade of my tri-culture life - and taking these years to bring in here, the experiences, stories, milestones and other memories, specially in my formative years. I hope that some of these, wiil enrich and add to your memories of my parents and family, with the thought of possibly taking the good parts on to the next generation!
