| Introduction | Director of the playway nursery, Colombo 7, Sri Lanka. Has a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in the study and teaching methodology of the English Language and a Diploma in Preschool and Sub-Primary Education (Ladies’ College). Has done her Graduate studies in the area of Teaching English to Young Learners at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA. She is an ESOL YL Examiner, Cambridge University through British Council Sri Lanka. Involved, in both teaching and administration, with a special focus on introducing and developing the English language to young learners, collaborating the language with the other early childhood areas of learning through a thematic approach. Active in curriculum development, child and teacher evaluation and promoting parent & community involvement at special events at the playway nursery. Formally at the Overseas School of Colombo (2000- 2006). Currently serving as the Secretary of slelta, 2011/2012 (Sri Lanka English Language Teachers’ Association) Sri Lanka's only national body of professional English language teachers. |
