| Introduction | A fringe feminist, I thought I would keep my age a secret, but my age is part of who I am. I'm going to be 54 this year. I remember MOST of the 60's. Number 1 reason.. I still lived at home! I was raised in Bemidji, Minnesota. My dad taught me to enjoy and respect the outdoors. Then I got married, had a child, moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and have lived here for 26 years! The kid's grown, the husband's divorced and I am now remarried, with cats and chickens and a new passion for oil painting. One other thing, I'm liberal. I used to not mention this in polite company. But I'm a child of the 60's. It wasn't ALL sex, drugs and rock and roll. Part of it was a controversial war and a power hungry President. It was draft dodging, bra burning. Parents had gone to sleep when Lyndon Baines Johnson was going on about a "Great Society". It was a great society, if you were white, male and were old enough not to be drafted. The rest of us were ignored or ordered about like pawns on a chess board. Okay, this is an intro to a blog, not my autobiography. If you stuck it out this far, thanks for listening. If you want to get even, email me your story! |
