IntroductionI’ve Been Dyeing For long A Time Now I found my first spinning wheel in a dusty, antique restoration shop. It was a lovely old walnut wheel treadle wheel. I’ve been hand spinning, weaving, felting and dyeing for over 30 years. I started Chamomile Connection in 2002 selling organic colorgrown cotton. I still love organic cotton, but we’ve expanded to include silk. My world of dyeing fiber exploded into color. My brown shelves of naturally colored organic cotton transformed into vibrant color everywhere. I see color differently because of my time as an artist and you can see this in how I dye fiber. My love of color stems from my work in watercolors. I am beginning to paint again and also continue my love of silversmithing and other forms of metal work. And just wait until I get my potter’s wheel going! Today, we are enjoying the peaceful life in Mimbres Valley, New Mexico (Mimbres means ‘behind the willows’). My shop/studio is open to the public, call before swinging by because we might be out hiking. At my shop you can buy yarn for knitting and weaving, fiber for spinning, handmade soap, jewelry, and other handmade items.
