Introduction Intimate Stranger was formed in Santiago, Chile in 2005 by Lautaro - ex guitarist of Cucsifae, Don Fango and Disturbio Menor - and singer/bassist Tessie. At the end of 2005 they move to London and join up with drummer Ric Jonston (The Black Dove Experiment) and settle in to a sound that is reflected in their debut album, "Life Jacket.” They spend the next two years playing around London and touring in Europe and the US - playing festivals such as SXSW in Austin, Texas. The three-piece collective blends well-paced alternative rock with effective and lingering pop melodies that recall the song structures of their punk and indie rock influences. Simple and driven instrumentation back the smooth, melodic female vocals that complete the band’s ambience of melancholic rock. Special attention should be paid to the lyrics, which successfully fuse a sense of the eclectic and lyrical with the rawness of urban life. The band is currently playing and recording their second album in Chile, together with original drummer Mauricio Muñoz and keyboardist Ismael Palma.
