Introduction I gave my life to Jesus in 1994, and I journal to record my journey as a Christian as I continue to let God heal me and “complete the work He began in me.” I am a retired mom with 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. In 2021 I moved to the same town where my daughter and her family live. My sons live in 2 different states, but we use social media to help us stay connected. I recently retired from a job I loved as the administrative assistant in a public school. I'm now full time Mimi! Some of my favorite things, in no particular order, are fall and winter, rainy days, reading, writing, scrapbooking, and Coca-Cola. I graduated in 2014 with B.A. in English, the culmination of a life-long goal. I was an older, non-traditional student, but I believe that you are never too old to follow your dreams. Age is only a state of mind, and I believe you are only limited by what you believe you can do.
Interests I love to read. Until recently, reading for pleasure had diminished because I had to read for my college classes. I also love to cross-stitch and work on my photo albums and scrapbooks.
Favorite Movies Some of my favorite movies are You've Got Mail, The Princess Bride, While You Were Sleeping, Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, and Pride and Prejudice (2005). I also love The Harry Potter movies, The Hunger Games series, the Divergent series, Hook, Finding Nemo, and all the Chronicles of Narnia movies.
Favorite Music I love classical music, especially Beethoven, Chopin, and Mozart. I also love oldies pop music from the 60s, 70s and 80s such as The Mommas and the Poppas, Simon and Garfunkel, The Carpenters, Three Dog Night, Elton John and Billy Joel, to name only a few. Nowadays, though, I mostly listen to conptemporary Christian. My favorites are Casting Crowns, Rich Mullins, Third Day, Jason Upton, Chris Tomlin, and Steven Curtis Chapman. I also love marching bands! I love going to marching band contests, drum and bugle corps, etc. I should have been in band myself as a teen, but that's a long story.
Favorite Books The Bible, The Chronicles of Narnia--all 7 books, pretty much anything else that C.S. Lewis wrote, The Harry Potter books, Jane Austen's books, any Max Lucado book, and books by Nicholas Sparks. I also like young adult fiction like the Divergent series and The Hunger Games. This is probably due in part to the fact that I work with teachers that are using these books in the Freshman classes.
