| Introduction | "You're getting married? But you're so young!" As an engaged couple in college, we heard every variation of this type of thought. We tied the knot in 2009, and it's still painfully evident that our decision to get married while barely old enough to drink is one that goes against today's notion of "settling down." No relationship guru, self-help book, psychiatrist or know-it-all TV host can prepare you for the journey of marriage, we quickly learned. Marriage is the kind of game that you only become good at with hands-on experience. We live this experience every day, playing the game by a set of rules that work for us. By sharing some of our battle-tested insight, we're confident that you'll come away with something you'll learn from, relate to, or think about and be better for it. Maybe some day that all-encompassing marriage manual will be published that will get you through your lifetime together. Until then we're still learning, but here's our rough draft... |
