Introduction	I'm a 32 year old post doc working in the DC Metro area. I have lived here for about a year and am amazed how little the non-scientific world knows or cares about the greater ethical and historical significance of the scientific discoveries that improve their daily lives. I have spent the better part of 15 years studying science, specifically microbiology/virology, and am hoping that I can inspire discussion about science ethics and policies through education and outreach, starting with this blog. One disclaimer, while I do work for a government agency, nothing I say in any way reflects the view of said agency, they are my own.
