| Introduction | They say that hitting the half-century mark can be life changing. It certainly was for me. I found myself out of work in an extremely depressed economy. That's when I decided to return to school and finish my degree. Even with 25-plus years as a workaholic newspaper journalist, I knew I could no longer rely on my experience to land my next job. Now I am finding my way in a whole new world of online communication. Yes, it is sometimes frustrating and frightening, but I will keep swimming upstream in a journalistic world that keeps changing.
