IntroductionI knew since I was a tiny girl that I wanted to write and train horses. I am very lucky and I had the confidence and support to do exactly what I wanted. For 20 years I have worked with horses and riders of all types and disciplines and from all over the world. These experiences have been precious to me and I am now enjoying writing and ruminating on all of the unique and wonderful memories. Some highlights in my horse career have been founding Oxbow Horse Farms with partners who became best friends, directing Equilibrium Horse Center and learning the true classical way to perfect horsemanship, and starting my own simple small training school called Adagio Dressage. These days I spend my time helping horsemen and parrot owners on a voluntary basis with any training, health, or nutritional guidance, and write and read from home. It's a damn good life.
InterestsI love parrots. I have a dog named Ernie. My mom has been my best friend since I was a child. I met my husband at a poetry reading and fell in love with him instantly. I used to be a really lovely ice skater and equestrian but I got kicked about 10 hers ago and developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (also know. As Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy), and it slowly changed how I spend my time and where my skills lay. This in turn, altered my interests and broadened my horizons. After I got over being very, very angry. I still consult with animal owners on a voluntary basis and assist with training, housing, and nutritional plans. I love books. I carry them with me despite shoulders. My bag always contains my Nook, 2-6 books that cannot be found digitally, a journal, a planner made of nicely textured paper pages, a magazine, a clipboard full of bills, a folder full of notes. I love Pilates and yoga and I look very silly practicing them with my complete deficient balance and strength- but use it or lose it has never been so true, and to a body used to being still and afraid to move or it may shatter, nothing feels better than to glide through movements and let go of everything for awhile. I love hot showers and routines and spicy food. I love going to the produce market and traipsing. Through new cities with my lover. I love writing. I love the things that warrant being written about. And I love you: my partner whose face I cannot recognize but whom is so kindred that for entire minutes we are sharing the same throughts through different experiences as we read one another's innermost words.
