Introduction | Hello! I am an Edinburgh based Freelance Artist & Illustrator, specialising in children's books. My work is strongly influenced by all things furry and feathered, although recently, I have found people of the two-legged variety creeping in to my illustration work trying to steal some of the limelight! I studied Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and have spent the past seven years, since graduating with a Masters degree, teaching there part-time. My creative work ranges from writing and illustrating children's books, to creating large scale paintings for commission and exhibition. My latest and very best creation comes in the form of my daughter Honey, who was born in 2009. A lively little lady who keeps me on my toes and leaves life with never a dull moment! Since her birth I have cut back on the teaching to concentrate on the work I can do from home whilst being a full-time Mum. So this finds me scribbling away at my desk while she is asleep at night, concentrating on creating new characters and book concepts, and generally enjoying some creative time that doesn't involve changing a nappy! |
