| Introduction | This blog began in 2014, the work of a vigorous, dedicated advocate (she/her/hers) focused on advancing rights and increasing opportunities for people with developmental disabilities in Washington, DC. I am the parent of a young man receiving supports from DC’s Department on Disability Services, and was formerly chair of the DC Developmental Disabilities Council. In addition to advocating for full inclusion of people with disabilities in our local community, I support statehood for DC, where I have lived since 1978, since without it no DC resident, disabled or non-disabled, will ever be fully empowered. Opinions in this blog are my own. |
