Introduction	I grew up in Iowa, recently moving to the Dallas area. This was the first time I was far from family and in an unfamiliar place. Talking to friends from home has gotten me by, and I'm hoping this blog gives me something else to look forward to. I am married to my best friend. I have two boys, one who is 3 1/2 years old, and the other is 12 years old. Yes, big gap, but they do well together. We have some furry members of our family; Maple, our Basset Hound, Chuy, our Chiweenie, and Sheldon, our cat. We also foster for a local Basset rescue, so we are never short on drama. Between a toddler, a tween, and lots of flying fur, it's a crazy ride. But I wouldn't have picked any other roller coaster!
Interests	Spending time with family, cooking, reading, playing on the internet, training horses(which I haven't been able to do for many years)
Favorite movies	Lot's of favorites from the past...to name a few....the Goonies, Labyrinth, the Dark Crystal, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, With Honors, Dead Poet's Society.....too many more to mention but I'm sure you get the idea.
Favorite music	I love everything, but prefer not to listen to Big Band or Country.
Favorite books	Roots by Alex Hailey is my all time favorite. I have read it many times and it never fails to amaze me. There are a few more, but this is the one that always comes to mind.
