| Introduction | My story starts some 10 years after WWII. My father had decided to make his post war future in the USA. He arrived on the SS Veendam in November of 1953 and set up home in Minnesota. The story goes that he received a cable from the lady that was to be his wife and my mother saying "Arriving Queen Mary, New York, 11 March 1954" "Be there!" I was born on the 10-year anniversary of V E day. I have no idea if this will be of interest or not, I just wanted a medium to record life's events, travels with some of my motorbike rides, cycles and the daily ups and downs. I hope I can include detailed trip reports etc and of course, as I am getting on in years, I can be very opinionated, you will find that out. Oh and I do a daily post on Facebook so I will start by using copy and paste of that, It can be a little out of the box. |
