Introduction	Ron Laffin, a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), teaches Art 2d and AP Art History at American High School in Miami, and is certified to teach Art and Language Arts. Mr. Laffin has written and received an NEA Fine Arts grant to help lower level readers achieve through learning and utilizing higher order thinking skills during visits to art museums. He has been a presenter at the Florida Art Educators Association Conference in Orlando and during Professional Development in Dade Couny. Mr. Laffin is an illustrator and graphic designer,co-owned RGB Creative, a graphic design/advertising company and was the Art Director of TV stations WFOR and WCIX in Miami. He is the winner of 9 Emmy awards and various awards in the advertising, TV and graphic design fields. He has served on the Boards of Directors of the South Florida chapters of March of Dimes, Childrens' Home Society and NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences), and the international organization Broadcast Designers' Association. Mr. Laffin earned a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art.
