Introduction	A little about me. I'm a 29 year old undergraduate student and a full-time paramedic for the city of Austin. I would consider my political views as moderate with a lean to the left, but according to the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press I'm firmly seated in the liberal category. Prior to 2000, I did not follow politics at all. However, in the last eight years I've found myself dissatisfied with the general direction our country is heading and the policies of the current administration. I dislike the divisiveness in politics today and truly feel that we as a nation, and as voters, should focus on what unites us as a people rather than what divides us into disparate ideological camps. This disenchantment has led to an ever-increasing curiosity in politics and the general working of our government. I'm excited to be taking a US Government class during this election season and fully expect to have a richer experience because of it.
