Introduction I’ve always enjoyed discovering answers to head-scratching questions. I received my Ph.D. in Physiology 1993 and then taught and did research for 7 years. About 13 years ago I also began studying the Bible in its historical context. All of a sudden I started finding answers to perplexing questions, and insights that deepened my faith. I’ve since made several trips to Israel to study the land and culture, and learn some Hebrew and Greek. With a friend, in 2001 I began a ministry called the “En-Gedi Resource Center,” (www.egrc.net) which taught about the Bible in its cultural context. We spoke in churches, hosted seminars and published books. I began writing articles, and En-Gedi published a book of my writing called, “Listening to the Language of the Bible: Hearing It Through Jesus’ Ears.” My new book (co-authored by Ann Spangler), "Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus: How the Jewishness of Jesus will Transform Your Faith," will be released by Zondervan in March 2009. Next I’m writing a book of insights on Hebrew words that enrich Bible study. I currently own a home in Holland, Michigan, where I've lived for about 15 years.
