Introduction I am a jewellery artist living and working in Queensland Australia. While my 2007 works critiqued Western cosmologies that contributed to our attitudes and treatment of our environment, my 2008 works are addressing the concept of 'the void'. Within an East Asian framework, 'the void' does not connote 'blank space' or 'absence', but rather a 'potential' space with phenomenological possibilities. Artists and Jewellers that have influenced my interest in the void are Anish Kapoor, Lee U Fan, and Norman Cherry. In 2009/2010 my works have been inspired by my exhibition exchange to Japan in early April. From it's architecture to its decorative arts and textile patterns, I have been gripped by its aesthetic and rich history.
