| Introduction | We are a very happily married couple brought together by Lord Jesus more than 34 years ago. Throughout our lives we have experienced His continuous love and guidance. We have been blessed with three wonderful children, two sons in law and three grandchildren! Jan is a government official at the National Treasury and Miekie home schools a very special child. |
| Interests | Jan: I have the desire that the whole world will become reborn Christians and experience the mercy of the Lord. I strive to be a good family man and in my work I endeavour to establish an honest, sound procurement system throughout the whole public sector. I like watching rugby and support the Blue Bulls. In my view I am objective: I support every team that plays against the Western Province! Miekie: I love my family, I love teaching, I love God's creation. Reading is a must in my life - so unfortunately is also watching 7e laan (an Afrikaans soapie) and playing Spider Solitaire and drinking diet coke! Otherwise I am generally a good person of sober habits! |
| Favorite Movies | Jan: Where Eagles dare, The Guns of Navarone and The Odessa File i.e. detective stories. Miekie: My Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Forest Gump. I.e. romantic movies and period drama. |
| Favorite Music | Jan: Classical music especially as performed by Andre Rieu. Miekie: "The Lord's prayer" and Handel's "Hallelujah" (when I'm in heaven I'll sing Soprano - now I am a discord alto!) My favourite composer is Verdi. |
| Favorite Books | Jan: Previously Alistair McClean. These days mostly spiritual books. Recently enjoyed "Created according to God's image". Miekie:"Anne of Green Gables." "Jane Eyre" "Toe Ma nog Meintjie was" en "Meintjie word Mevrou" (would give anything to get hold of these books)These days I love books by Francine Rivers |
