| Introduction | Welcome to the Garage Mahal! We are Stu and Theresa Allen. I am a retired Navy Dental Technician and my husband is a retired Marine Engineer. We have traveled around the world living in Japan, Italy, Guam and Bahrain plus traveled for either work or pleasure to another 33 countries picking up “stuff” along the way – consequently we affectionately named our eclectically ordained guest house the “Garage Mahal”. I'm from Maine and Stu is from Seattle, we moved to East Tennessee in 2010, built our home in the mountains and just recently finished the Garage Mahal. We lived in Italy for 7+ years and had the unique opportunity to live on Mt Vesuvius where we were immersed in the culture and met some incredible people who have since become more than family. I was lucky enough to be around some of the best cooks there and learned all I could from them before we left.
