| Introduction | In July 2009, a strange twist of fate combined with spontaneity, possessed me to pack most of my belongings and move to a foreign country. In the frame of 2 weeks, I quit my job, canceled my insurance, cable, and phone, left the apartment building of which I was the caretaker, dropped my enrollment at the University I was attending, and broke the news to my skeptical and heartbroken father. Having never seen my new home, let alone visited a nearby city, my uncertainty about my future made my conviction in the situation strange to others, but I was sure it was right. Now that I've been living here for 6 months, I couldn't be more unsure, but with the help of my family I am discovering the wonders that lay in uncertainty. |
