| Introduction | I received my degree in Restaurant Management in 2006. Since then I have opened my own restaurant, then sold it 3 years later. I now work as the Kitchen and Beer Manager at a gourmet food store and coffee shop with three locations. I enjoy cooking for my family and friends. At home I try to make everything from scratch, this has been a learning process for me as I search for new and better ingredients and techniques. My personal cooking goal now is to cook more seasonal foods, this means trying to only use the fruits and vegetables that are in season. It also means that I am learning preservation techniques for food as it comes into season, so that I can use it throughout the year. Last summer, my wife and I froze several fruits that we have been able to use periodically. This summer I hope to can my first vegetables. As I go through this and continue my learning, I would love to share the knowledge I have with others. |
