| Introduction | What is it that I want to say? I was asked by a friend who had read many of the articles on this blog. The question was not meant to undermine my work, but to trigger new possibilities, new thoughts and a purpose. I suppose the purpose has always been there, only I never put it in words. Media coverage can never be objective. Why? Because of the policy of the media organization, the inevitable personal disposition of the journalist or reporter, and the amount of knowledge and unbiased background research included in the act of reporting (which is not always possible in the hectic environment of daily news coverage, very rapid events taking place on the local and international arenas). I have given it a thought.. I might not be totally right in what I write or say, I might even be fatally wrong. But if this can lead to open a new debate free from clichés of propagandist news coverage, Why not? |
