| Introduction | The first thing Edmund Hillary said to his climbing companions when came down from Mt Everest with Tenzing Norgay after successfully reaching the summit was "WE KNOCKED THE BASTARD OFF". The attitude and outlook on life of great Kiwis such as Hillary', Sir Peter Blake, Graham Dingle and more modern outdoor adventurers such as Steve Gurney has been inspirational for me & I decided,in my own way,to knock the bastard off as well. On the 29th of May 2009 (the annivesary of the historic conquest of Everest) I competed in the Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon starting at Everest base camp. I am continuing run and raise funds to support an orphanage in Kathmandu providing a safe loving environment and private education for Nepali children in need.To find out more about the cause check out my post named "The Cause". |
