| Introduction | I'm the Founder and Exec. Director of Girls Fight Back, an organization that provides personal safety and self-defense education for women. GFB was founded in 2001 after the murder of my dear friend, Shannon McNamara, at Eastern Illinois University. I travel the nation as a professional speaker, giving seminars that teach how to live safe and empowered lives. My first book titled Girls Fight Back! The College Girl's Guide to Protecting Herself hit bookstores in September 2006, and I'm currently working on my second book.
