| Introduction | Yaylalar means "high places" in Turkish. It is where I met my husband, Tolga. To this day we see what a miracle it is to have found each other. I grew up in Minnesota, lived my 20s in New Jersey/New York, and got married in 2008. Our marriage, incidentally, started off with 2 years of unemployment. That was hard. I started this blog during that period to try and keep myself sane. In 2010, my husband accepted a job in Turkey. He is a geologist, and I quickly obtained a job as an English teacher. Since I was young, I've wanted be an author. As I've grown up, I've written simply because I find it enjoyable, cathartic, and most of the time - healthy. And I still have book ideas . . . |
